Yesterday was a milestone for me as an author and designer. I received the very first proof copies of my journals that I was working on last year.
:
I cannot express to you the feeling you get when you work so hard to accomplish something and you finally have it in your hand! I cried when I opened the package and saw the journals, not because I felt that they were beautiful, but because it was such a relief to see months of effort in physical format.
:
When you consistently work and focus on a goal, the feeling you get from accomplishing that goal is indescribable! That's why I always advise my mompreneur clients to finish at least one project that they're working on, because that one thing is the plug to opening all the things you want to accomplish.
:
What holds us back is never finishing what we start. I speak from experience, as I have been working on things since 2014 and only this year have I been able to offer it for physical publication.
:
To be honest, when you create digital content, the satisfaction is there, but it's not as great as when you actually produce something tangible. I really believe that making things with your hands is something that every human being should do in their lifetime - whether to sell or simply as a hobby.

It's one of the most satisfying feelings you can achieve, and if you're going through a depression, creating something with your hands would bring a lot of joy and confidence.

Of course nothing is possible without the Will of Allah SWT and I do believe that everything happens in the time it is meant to happen. So no regrets - just don't stop trying!

🌟Salaams and Happy 2019!🌟
A new calendar year always feels refreshing and a great time to set new goals. I actually set my goals twice per year - in January and again in Muharram. Also, I never limit myself to setting goals at that time of the year only - though I prefer it. Sometimes, I set goals monthly and as my life changes - maybe that's why I don't find it daunting to achieve them like so many claim. The reason I do fail at my goals is due to:

🌟Self-doubt

If there's one new year's resolution I'm continuing from 2018 is this one. Last year I learned a lot about toxic people and how much they affect our lives. My 2019 Instagram Goals...

I sat down and took a long, hard look at my website stats today (something that I've avoided for long). I should have done this years ago because I would have served my readers better.
:
You see, I'm a writer - that's what I do best and my readers want. Second, I design products - yet I never get time to finish either of them. This year was the most frustrating for me, as I've been on social media more than I've been in years since my FB account. And sadly, I don't have much to show for it.
:
At moments it was fun and new follows make you feel that people approve of you. I met some great sisters too, but most days, it drained my time and left me unmotivated to do my actual work. I didn't produce much on my site and what I did on IG stories took more time, yet was forgotten after 24 hours - that was disheartening!
:
I don't want to do that again next year, God Willing, so I've set 5 IG goals for 2019 and wanted to share them with you, my dear followers, so you'll know what to expect.😉
:
1. I won't be posting on IG much to better serve my subscribers and to focus on producing content that's in need.💕
2. I won't be posting much personal so this page can offer my readers a clutter-free experience of my products and services.💕
3. I will post intentionally and with meaning - not to just say something or post because it's due, but to offer my readers value.💕
4. My followers love humor, so I'll keep posting that when I can to make you laugh.💕
5. I've come to accept that I'm a private person who doesn't enjoy taking selfies, nor to show my family and things, so I'm making peace with that. I won't go against my heart and in return, you'll get a less wishy-washy feel on my page.💕

So there you have it! My IG goals that will benefit both you and me. I pray it is a happy medium and I am able to give you a lighter, yet better experience.🤗
